Mitsui DM Sugar Co., Ltd.
Based on our corporate mission to “work closely and flexibly with you, as your lifetime partner, to help you enjoy sweeter living,” the Mitsui DM Group aims to always give thanks to nature, the source of our business, and to deliver nature’s blessings widely to people in various forms.
To do so, it is essential that we keep our customers smiling as they enjoy their food and ensure healthy and sustainable local communities and, by extension, the global environment. Based on this basic recognition, we have formulated a Basic Sustainability Policy to take on the challenges posed by the global environmental and social issues facing the Group. Specifically, through "supporting" the five areas of the environment, people, health, local communities, and happiness, we aim to create new value and realize a sustainable society while solving various issues facing our planet, society, and the people around us.
In addition, we have identified nine “Material Issues”: addressing climate change; managing limited water resources; reducing waste; respecting human rights; strengthening occupational health and safety; embedding Diversity, Equity & Inclusion; providing safe and reliable food; promoting health improvement and “Tekito-Seikatsu”* in society; and supporting the growth of local economies. Addressing each of these issues through our business activities is essential to being recognized and needed by all of our stakeholders ー this is our raison d’être as a company.
* “Tekito-Seikatsu” refers to a lifestyle with moderate sugar intake.
We strive to be a corporate group that continually contributes to a future of greater happiness, and we will continue to take on challenges for “Enriching your happiness.”
