Human Rights Policy

In accordance with our Basic Sustainability Policy and as our corporate activities become more globalized, the Mitsui DM Group recognizes the importance of implementing initiatives for respecting human rights.
We have established a Human Rights Policy for the entire Group and expect our various stakeholders—including employees, the entire supply chain, and business partners—to understand this policy and put it into practice. We will work together to promote respect for human rights.

1. Basic Approach
The Mitsui DM Group respects the human rights norms set forth in the International Bill of Human Rights and the International Labour Organization’s Declaration on Fundamental Principles and Rights at Work. We also support the United Nations (UN) Guiding Principles on Business and Human Rights and the Ten Principles of the UN Global Compact, and we conduct our business activities based on these principles. In addition, we comply with laws and regulations in each country and region where we operate, and if there is a conflict between internationally recognized human rights and the laws and regulations of a country or region where we are operating, we seek ways to respect internationally recognized principles of human rights wherever possible while complying with such laws and regulations.

We also expect business partners involved in the manufacture and provision of our products and services to understand and comply with this policy.
3. Respect for Human Rights
We recognize that we cannot completely eliminate the possibility that our business activities may have negative impacts on society. We strive not to violate the human rights of those affected by our business activities, and we will take appropriate measures to correct any negative impacts on human rights that may occur in the course of our business activities, thereby taking responsibility for respecting human rights in our business activities, including in our supply chain.
